Club Sea Masters Sailing

Club Sea Masters Sailing is a non-profit sports club, duly registered with Instituto Panameño De Deportes - Pandeportes, with the main objective of developing and promoting competitive and recreational sailing in Panama.

 

Its purposes include the organization of tournaments, championships, and sailing regattas in various categories; conducting seminars, courses, and conferences for students, technicians, coaches, referees, etc.; organizing sports activities and promoting education of sailing and watercraft sports at the national level, as well as promoting national teams and athletes at the international level.

To be a member, you must have an active enrollment with the Academy. The enrollment fee must be renewed every year

Member Boat Rental Program

Club members are encouraged to take advantage of the academy's boat rental program, but must adhere to specific policies for each boat class. These policies include ensuring they meet the qualifications and experience requirements for the desired boat, following the rental process and booking guidelines, adhering to specified rental durations and associated fees, operating the boat safely and in accordance with academy rules, and understanding their responsibilities in case of any damage incurred during the rental period. These policies are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all members. 

Rental Policy 2024

Prerequisite  
  • Must be an active member with annuals dues paid. Only active members who have paid their annual dues qualify for these discounted rental prices!

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Each boat class has its own 

  • Minimum age requirement for renters and/or all crew members.

  • Required certifications or completion of a sailing course. Or approval from Coach Gui.

  • Waiver of liability acknowledging risks associated with sailing.

Rental duration
  • 3 hours: including rigging and unrigging. A $25 late fee will be applied after 3 hours

Rental Process & Booking

Reservation must be done via WhatsApp at +507.6607-2941

Payment must be done on the day of rental prior to rigging the boat.

Bad weather policy: rental may be cancelled due to inclement weather. No payment will be processed.

You may reschedule, subject to boat availability and scheduling conflicts with lessons or regattas.

Damage & Responsability

The renter is responsible for any damage to the rental boat and its equipment that occurs during the rental period, from the time of departure to the time of return. This includes damage caused by:

Grounding, collision, or capsizing

Negligence in operation or handling

Failure to follow safety procedures

Improper use of equipment​

Upon return, if there was an incident, the renter must report it and the boat will be inspected by a qualified staff member to assess any damage.

The renter will be notified of any damage identified and its estimated repair cost.

The renter is responsible for the full cost of repairs

Damage Exclusions:

The following types of damage may not be the renter's responsibility, depending on the specific circumstances:

"Normal wear and tear" - This refers to minor cosmetic damage resulting from typical use.

Pre-existing damage - If the renter identifies pre-existing damage upon departure, it should be documented with a staff member for exclusion from post-rental damage assessment.

Additional Considerations:

Deposit: A damage deposit may be required at the time of booking. This deposit may be applied towards repair costs if damage is identified upon return.

Dispute Resolution:

In the event of a disagreement regarding the cause or cost of damage, the academy will work with the renter to reach a fair resolution. This may involve discussions with the inspecting staff member and potentially consulting third-party expertise.

RS Quest

  • Spinnakers will only be allowed for those who have completed spinnaker course or have approval from Coach Gui.
